The Muslim Kid Deserved a Healthy and Motivating Fajr Time

We the youths struggle hard to wake for Fajr (dawn prayer). In most cases we largely depend on our alarms or a door knock from Mommy, Daddy or our neighbors etcetera. By all indications, few of us developed a comprehensive solution that addresses their deeper issues of waking up to not miss Fajr.

The proportion of the married men and probably women (since I'm not certain but hoping. No hard feelings please) who wake for Fajr on the other hand is significantly awesome. Probably, that has to do with being conscious of their responsibilities of being 'shepherds.'

These shepherds, to be honest with you, to say that you people are really trying is an understatement. We are seeing the flow of your flock (the school aged-kids and teenagers especially) to the Masjid (mosque) for Fajr. I don't know how you manage to do that, but that's really commendable of you.

However, I noticed something with these young stars; they mostly spent this blessed moment in the Masjid in slumber. Among other things, this tells me one thing - they don't quite have enough sleep!

Know that, like you and I, these children need a healthy sleep routine to have a productive growth, time to play during the day, to learn and to aslo wake for Fajr feeling strong.

Children needs more sleeping time than you the parents. So, planning when and how they go to bed every night is very important.

To successfully plan for their bed time, you need to cut short their 'Screen Time' (how long they watch TV, massage their phones etc) and ensure they're through with the school assignments on time during the day.

Some children have difficulty falling asleep, nighttime awakening, sleep apnea and even resisting going to bed. As a parent, learn how to manage these if they show. Consult your doctor.

Very important also is to equip yourself with some underlying motivations on WHY to wake for Fajr and motivate the children with.

These, and many more gallantry and polished strategies would help you towards the kids to wake for and enjoy a better Fajr without slumber  - a healthy one and motivating. They may even be the ones to be waking your entire house for Fajr.

Wishing you a Happy Fajr Time with the kids.
